Valletta Food Festival Review šŸ¢ A Once‑a‑Year Feast in Malta

Hello! We’re a Korean couple studying in Malta. We visited the Valletta Food Festival—held only once a year—and it quickly became one of our happiest evenings.

1) Entry & First Impressions

We did an open‑run at 6:00 PM, paid the €5 entry, and received a free welcome bread at the gate—such a cheerful start. Early hours meant fewer people and wide, calm walkways to explore each booth comfortably.

2) Free Tastings & Sips

The highlight was the free tastings: fresh bread, oat milk, and spirits. We found a tropical tequila that might be our all‑time favorite. It was a tasting‑only day, but a kind staff member explained where to purchase it afterward.

3) Photo Spots & Quick Bites

The giant milk prop was irresistibly cute—perfect for photos. For food, we grabbed a meat skewer and a Chinese platter with dumplings; simple and satisfying festival fuel.

4) When Night Falls

Around 8:00 PM the crowd swelled and the mood turned electric. A four‑member female vocal group took the stage and absolutely impressed us. After sunset, the umbrella canopy glowed under the lights—magical and photogenic.

5) Why We Recommend It

  • Affordable entry + cheerful welcome bread
  • Tons of free tastings & sips
  • Easy quick bites (skewers, dumplings, platter)
  • Live music that genuinely impresses
  • Beautiful night ambiance and photo spots

If you’re in Malta when the festival returns, don’t miss it—tasty, lively, and seriously photogenic.
