Malta’s Only Large Multiplex 🎬 Eden Cinemas — How to Book and My Visit Review


Hello☺️   I’m JingJing. We are a Korean couple currently studying in Malta. 

Today, I’m going to share one of my favorite cultural experiences from the past six months — visiting Eden Cinemas, Malta’s only large multiplex cinema.





 What is Eden Cinemas?

Opened in 1993, Eden Cinemas revived the cinema culture in Malta. It operates more than seven screens and always shows the latest movies. The venue boasts Malta’s largest screen, along with THX sound and Dolby Digital-Surround EX for an outstanding audio-visual experience. It’s located in St. Julian’s, in the same building as a karaoke spot I’ve mentioned before.


 My First Impression

Honestly, I didn’t expect it to be as good as cinemas in Korea — but I was pleasantly surprised by the screen size and sound quality. One unique thing here is a 10-minute break in the middle of the movie! It startled me at first, but later I had fun surprising friends who didn’t know about it.


 Language and Subtitles

Movies are shown in English, and sometimes there are English subtitles. Since my husband Bongbong still finds listening challenging, we chose a subtitled screening — it made understanding much easier.


 How to Book

You can book tickets via the official Eden Cinemas website. It’s as easy as booking on CGV or Lotte Cinema in Korea.

  1. Select the movie and showtime.
  2. Choose your seat.
  3. Optionally pre-order popcorn and drinks.

At the cinema, simply show your e-ticket on your phone. You can enter from 10 minutes before the screening starts.
